TheSampleStore: 'unboxing'

Heyy everyone~ Today I'm back with a short post.

So, recently, I was introduced to TheSampleStore by my friends from school. It's an online webstore that lets you try free samples of different products. All the Samples are free but the non sponsored samples do not have free shipping. Since my first shipment just came, i thought i do a little 'unboxing' and share it.

\

I got the Hiruscar scar removing gel, Hadalabo hydrating lotion and whitening lotion. These were all sponsored sample so they had free shipping too. There are two kinds of samples online. The samples are all free but the non-sponsored samples cost $5.99(4 kinds of samples) for delivery charges. Depending on how long the sample last, it may or may not be worth it.

Bothe the Hadalabo lotions are a week supply while the Hiruscar gel has 2 weeks worth of supply. quite a substantial amount to try a product and see how it works. I have yet to try the two lotions. I am on day 2 of using the Hiruscar gel.

Product Review: Avalon Organics, Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Shampoo

Hello everyone~ Sorry for lack of updates this past 6 weeks or so. School Has started and I'm in year 2 now, so been really hectic.

Anyways, today I'm back with another product review! I'm a big fan of natural hair care products. For me, it basically means NO SULFATES NO SILICONE. I try to find products that are mostly organic and natural but anything without those ingredients are good for me too. :)

So,as usual, according to their official website, this Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Shampoo is a gentle plant-derived cleansers enriched with Beta Glucan, Vitamin E, Oat, Wheat Protein and Tea Tree Oil cleanse, purify and balance moisture levels for lasting scalp comfort and soft, touchable hair. It also
soothes skin irritation for lasting scalp comfort and strong, shiny, healthy-looking hair.

(1) Certified Organic Ingredient
My Hair:
I have an oily scalp and normal hair. So sometimes shampoos meant for oily hair/scalp types may be too stripping for my hair. I have the random scalp pimple once in a while but isn't anything usually.
The Shampoo:
It is a colorless clear shampoo. Slightly more watery than your usual shampoo. It doesn't foam as wells as your typical shampoos either. However, compared to the other natural shampoo I've tried, it's lather ability is quite decent. I use the shampoo daily (yes, i wash my hair every day cause Singapore's weather does not allow otherwise.) and it lasted me about a month and maybe a week more. Rather substantial in my opinion since I have long hair.
Pros:
  • Affordable
  • Helps to cool down any scalp pimples (makes them less painful)
  • Hair doesn't get oily as fast
  • Cleanses oily hair well
  • Slight cooling sensation when applied
  • Doesn't strip normal/dry hair
  • Hair is soft and manageable
  • Lather up decently
  • Organic & Natural
Cons:
  • Smells like tea tree oil. (Some people might dislike it)
  • Hair doesn't look any shinier
  • Smell does not last in your hair (your hair doesn't smell like anything after washing)

Overall:
It is quite a good and affordable hair shampoo. I have repurchased a new bottle during Watson's member sale. And it truly does cleanse my hair and scalp well. Getting it clean but not strip off any of it's natural oils. My hair is also still soft and only slightly tangled after wash (even after not using any hair conditioner).
Price: US$10.50, SGD$13.90
Where to buy: Watson SG, AvalonOrganics
Rating: 4/5
